Dear Alumni, Friends and Fans of Merrimack Athletics, When I was interviewing for the position of Director of Athletics I often spoke about the need for us to tell the Merrimack story.

As we look ahead to a new season, I encourage you to take a few minutes to look back at the season we only recently completed. I am confident that you will realize how successful our student-athletes were last year both competitively and academically. I also hope you will sense the excitement of the coming season and our commitment toward continually improving the overall experience of our student-athletes.

My vision for Merrimack Athletics is for all of our teams to challenge every year for a Northeast-10 Conference championship and for every student-athlete to experience the excitement of competing in an NCAA tournament. For our hockey program we need to consistently participate in the Hockey East Tournament. And like the goal for our other student-athletes, I want our hockey players to experience the NCAA Tournament during the four years at Merrimack.

We have incredibly talented coaches at Merrimack who truly serve as mentors to our student-athletes. But in order to reach our goals, we must provide them with every opportunity to succeed. And that requires greater involvement and investment from those outside the college – alumni, friends, parents, corporate partners and foundations.

To better engage these key audiences, we must tell our story and increase our communication with all of you. Increased communication will lead to increased revenue generation, which will allow us to renovate Lawler Arena; increase seating and build additional locker rooms, bathrooms and a concession area at the current turf field; build an additional turf field for practices; build new tennis courts; replace our current gym floor; and much more.

Of all the things we have to celebrate at Merrimack College, our potential may be the most exciting.

Thank you for your commitment to Merrimack Athletics.

Kind regards,

Glenn Hofmann

Director of Athletics
