NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Northeast-10 Conference unveiled its Spring Commissioner's Honor Roll on Monday, and for the second consecutive semester, 295 Merrimack College student-athletes were among the conference's elite academic performers by posting a 3.0 or better grade-point-average (GPA) last semester.
Mirroring the total from the fall CHR, the spring honorees ties the highest total for a single semester in Merrimack history since the CHR's inception. Among the NE10's 15 member institutions and LIU Post for field hockey and football, 3,637 NE10 student-athletes earned distinction on the CHR – 60 percent of the conference's athletes.
The Warriors led the conference with 36 of the 265 total student-athletes in the NE10 with a perfect 4.0 GPA. In comparison to the Fall CHR (212), the league saw a 54-athlete increase in the amount of student-athletes with a 4.0
The 295 selections for Merrimack were the third-most in the league, trailing Bentley (376) and Assumption (305). Additionally, Merrimack had 130 of its student-athletes post GPAs in the 3.50-3.99 range, and 129 who were slotted in the 3.00-3.49 GPA range.
In order to be eligible for CHR selection, a student-athlete must have met or exceeded a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale during the semester.
The highest total of student-athletes that were recognized came from the sport of football with a total of 407. Women's soccer was next with 302 honorees followed by women's track & field (299), men's lacrosse (268) and baseball (261).
