SAAC Raises $4300 for Make-A-Wish Foundation in Push-Up Challenge
NORTH ANDOVER, MA – The Merrimack Student Athlete Advisory
Committee (SAAC) raised $4300 in the inaugural Push-Up Challenge
Tuesday night to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Excluding the basketball teams, 13 of the 14 intercollegiate programs took part in the challenge. Each sport delegated four student-athletes to do as many push-ups as they could in a one minute time period.
The male and female student-athlete who did the most push-ups each won a $50 gift card to General Nutrition Center, while the male and female team that did the most push-ups won a championship belt. The team that raised the most money won a pizza party courtesy of the Merrimack Athletic Department. All contestants received a Merrimack t-shirt for participating.
Each contestant was required to find at least five sponsors who made a donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation on a per push-up basis.
