The winners will be announced at Merrimack’s annual Leadership, Education, Athletics and Development (LEAD) Awards on April 25 at 6 p.m. at the Rogers Center.

Leading the men’s tennis team to the Northeast-10 Championship and likely a fifth-straight NCAA appearance, Bellino was named to the Northeast-10 second team for singles and first team for doubles and was also an all-rookie honoree. He owns a 13-7 mark in singles play and is a three-time Northeast-10 Rookie of the Week. An accounting major, Bellino leads the men’s tennis team into conference tournament action beginning Thursday.

A business major, Carnevale leads the team with 45 strikeouts in 48.2 innings. He sports a 3-1 record in eight starts with a 2.40 ERA and is a two-time NE-10 Rookie of the Week. Also named the NE-10 Pitcher of the Week once, Carnevale is part of a starting rotation that has guided the baseball team to one of the most improved program in the league with a 17-17 record as it continues to battle for a playoff spot.

Starting all 11 games for the nationally-ranked men’s lacrosse team, Shand is fourth on the team with 27 points and second with 17 assists. The NE-10 Rookie of the Week on March 26, Shand recorded eight assists against Dominican, most ever by a Merrimack freshman and second-most in school history. A history major, Shand is a part of a team that was ranked third nationally in early April, its highest national ranking ever.

Last year’s winner was Chris Barnhart (Longmeadow, MA) from the men’s tennis team.
