The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee of Merrimack College will represent the collective voice of
all student-athletes and exchange ideas and resources within the campus community.
We will do this by:
- Promoting productive and constant communication between student-athletes, athletic departments, Northeast-10 conference office and Hockey East Conference and the Merrimack community.
- Encouraging more student-athlete involvement in community service projects, both on the Merrimack College campus and in the North Andover, Andover, and Lawrence communities.
Mission Statement of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee
The Mission of the NCAA Division II Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity for all student-athletes; protecting student-athlete welfare; helping give back to the local communities and fostering a positive student-athlete image.
SAAC Organized Events
Toys for Tots: As a committee SAAC works together to collect toys and donations at various Merrimack sporting events to donate to Boston Children’s Hospital for the holidays.
Lip Sync Battle: Merrimack athletic teams come together and preform their own “Lip Sync” skits in order to raise money for the Make A Wish foundation.
Spring Weekend: Every year at the annual spring weekend festival held throughout the Merrimack College campus, SAAC organizes an event and fundraises for their charity of choice.
Athlete Formal: The athlete formal event aims to bring together the various athletic teams and celebrate their yearly successes together as a whole. This is a unique opportunity for all athletes to come together, form new friendships and embrace their experiences as student athletes on the Merrimack College campus.
