Merrimack College is committed to renovating its historic J. Thom Lawler Ice Rink and you can be part of this exciting project! Don’t miss the opportunity to support Merrimack Hockey and join this important campaign to provide a first-class facility for our fans and student athletes.

At a hockey town-hall meeting on October 23, Director of Athletics Glenn Hofmann announced the Buy-A-Seat Plan and further information regarding next year's plans to finish the upgrades to Lawler Arena.

Buy-A-Seat Information and Benefits
• Your tax-deductible donation will go directly towards the renovation of J. Thom Lawler Rink
• A $500 contribution will purchase one seat in the new arena, a $5,000 contribution will purchase an entire row of seating
• Your name, or the name of someone you choose to honor, will be inscribed on a brass plate and permanently installed on the seating location of your choice
• You will be recognized for your generous donation in Merrimack Athletic publications and will receive an invitation to our Lawler Rink preview reception and grand opening ceremony.

In the summer of 2009, Merrimack began renovating Lawler Rink by investing over $1,000,000 to install a new state-of-the-art ice bed system. This significant upgrade has provided Merrimack with the premium ice surface necessary to compete and succeed in the Hockey East Association, the top collegiate conference in the nation.

With the new ice bed system now fully operational, Merrimack is moving forward with plans for additional renovations and improvements to Lawler Rink, highlighted by:
• Installation of premium chairback seats throughout the arena, all in Merrimack’s navy blue team color
• Creation of a new bleacher section for Merrimack student seating, located behind the goal
• Two new scoreboards complete with graphic capability and a new sound system
• Renovation of the arena lobby, designed to showcase the proud history of Merrimack Athletics and the achievements of its teams and individuals.

Timing is everything

Your participation is critical to the success of this drive, to the final renovation of the rink, and to strengthening Merrimack’s place in Hockey East.
