Indoor Track Turns In Top-Notch Performances at Tufts Invitational

MEDFORD, MA- The Merrimack indoor track and field teams sent abbreviated squads to the Tufts Invitational Saturday at the Gantcher Center.

In his first collegiate meet, Julio Arzu (Lynn, MA) claimed a first-place finish in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.24. Arzu also posted the fastest qualifying time in the preliminary heats to advance to the finals. Anthony Arcari (Tewksbury, MA) also competed in the 60 meter dash, capturing third as he clocked in just .03 seconds behind Arzu. Both rookies posted Northeast-10 qualifying marks in the event.

On the women's side, Briana Devereaux (Londonderry, NH) earned a fifth-place finish in the mile with a time of 5:23. Devereaux's time qualifies her for a spot in the mile at the Northeast-10 Conference Championship meet.

Up next, the Warriors take to the track January 22 were they will face off against some of Beantown's best at the Greater Boston Track Club Invitational.
