Boston, MA.—The Merrimack Men's Track and Field Team had a stellar day at the Riverhawk Invitational this past weekend, highlighted by top performers John Elie Jr and Claudel Chevalier, who competed against some of the nation's top college athletes in the 60 meter hurdle and Weight Throw invitational's respectively.
John Elie Jr placed in seventh in the 60-meter hurdle invitational with a time of 8.32 seconds.
Franco Recto finished eighth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.16 seconds.
Merrimack's relay team of
Jaeden Smith,
Mark Sten,
Blake Hickey and
Cory Couture finished eighth in the 1600-meter relay with a time of 3:20.98.
Cory Couture finished ninth in the 200-meter dash event with a time of 21.74.
Grant Eastin notched a new personal best with an eighth place finish in the shot put event with a throw of 14.21 meters, that moves him into third all time in the event in school history.
Jared Ptaszek placed in ninth in the weight throw final with a mark of 15.55 meters.
Claudel Chevalier finished 14
th in the Weight Throw invitational, with a mark of 16.48 meters.
