Softball Claims Four Spots On NEC All-Conference Teams

SOMERSET, N.J. – The Merrimack College Softball was recognized by the NEC for their performance in the 2024 season, as four members of their team were All-Conference selections.
 
 
All-NEC First Team: Ellen Hubbard

Hubbard, a junior from Rancho Palos Verdes, California was named to the All-NEC First Team for the second consecutive season. Ellen started and played in 50 games hitting .342 in the overall season and .329 average in conference. Hubbard remains the only player in Merrimack history to be named to the All-NEC first team. Hubbard was tenth in the conference and fourth in overall hits with 25 and 54 respectively. She also had an .805 OPS and 12 extra base hits. Ellen was last season's NEC player of the year and a member of the All-Rookie team two seasons ago as well.
 
All-NEC Second Team: Courtney Lanpher
Lanpher, a graduate student utility player from Princeton, Massachusetts, was named to the All-NEC Second Team for the second consecutive season as well, Lanpher batted .283 with a .786 OPS, with three home runs, 20 RBI's and 17 extra base hits while playing in every game for the Warriors this season, Courtney also had another stellar year in the field recording 94 putouts, 141 assists and  had an overall .959 fielding percentage.


All-NEC Second Team: Madison Cerpa
Cerpa, a senior outfielder from Long Beach, California made her first All-NEC Second team appearance after a career year that included 52 games played, 41 hits, and 20 extra base hits, her nine home runs this season led the team and moved her into eighth on the all-time list for single season home runs to go with a team leading 34 RBI, Madison also surpassed 100 hits this season. In the field, Cerpa posted a .946 fielding percentage with 80 putouts and six assists.
 
NEC All Rookie Team: Madeline Arvai
Arvai, a freshman from Rancho Mirage, California ended the season with the teams fourth most hits with 29 hits in 36 games played. Arvai also finished third on the team in RBI with 16. Arvai was also named Rookie of the Week after going 5-15 with 6 RBI in their series against Stonehill and Sacred Heart. Arvai also had 198 putouts and posted an overall .981 fielding percentage.
