DANBURY, CT – Merrimack College Baseball freshman third baseman
Dawson Bryce was named the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Rookie of The Year as announced by the ECAC Thursday morning. The ECAC voted Bryce out of numerous athletes from schools throughout the Northeast.
Bryce took home the distinction on the heels of an immaculate first year of college baseball. The Taunton, Massachusetts native totaled 90 hits, a new single season program record, and hit over .350. He was able to help the Warriors clinch their first ever division one postseason berth and solidify the winningest season in program history with 33 wins. Bryce was a special talent both at third base and at the dish. Along with ECAC Rookie of The Year, he was able to snag six NEC Rookie of The Week awards, NEC Rookie of The Year, All-NEC Second Team, and ABCA All-Region First Team.
