Women’s Swimming to Open Season Against Stonehill and Sacred Heart

BROCKTON, Mass. – The Merrimack College Women's Swimming and Diving Team is set to open up the season in a tri-meet against the Stonehill Skyhawks and Sacred Heart Pioneers at the Massasoit Community College Pool in Brockton, MA. This will be the first competition of the season for the Warriors.

The Warriors are set to take on Stonehill on Sunday for their first matchup of the year. Last season, the Warriors and Skyhawks met up three times, with Merrimack winning the series 2-1. The Warriors defeated Stonehill in the fall at a tri-meet at Sacred Heart 137.5-123.5 then fell in a close contest 126-136, only to come back and win the series in the last matchup 120-83.


In last year's meeting with Sacred Heart, the Warriors got a first-place finish from Neva Sa in the 200 yard and 500-yard freestyle. As well, junior Brooke Malvey took home gold in the 200-yard backstroke. Camila De La Rosa also tallied a first place finish in the 200 yard breaststroke. The Pioneers took the contest 165-96.
