Senior Karlee Alves has been tabbed this week's Fuddrucker's Female Athlete of the Week for the first time this year after averaging a double-double over two games that included a 12-point win over Saint Thomas Aquinas, the defending East Coast Conference champions.

Alves averaged 11.0 points, 10.0 assists and 3.5 steals per game against Bentley and Saint Thomas Aquinas. The senior point guard posted a double-double of 15 points and 11 helpers in Merrimack’s win over the Spartans, handing STAC its first regional loss of season and snapping its six-game winning streak. Alves committed just one turnover against Bentley, posting a 2.9 assist-to-turnover ratio in 72 minutes of action overall. She also now has at least nine assists in four straight games.
 
Alves and the Warriors will not be in action until 2019, which sees Merrimack play its penultimate non-conference game on Wednesday, Jan. 2, when the Warriors visit Mercy College for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.
