Junior Mikyla Grant-Mentis of the Merrimack College women's ice hockey team became the 11th player in Division 1 women's hockey history to have two short-handed goals in a single game Friday night, and poured on four assists over the two-game stretch against Vermont. Her performance helped her earn Fuddruckers Athlete of the Week.

The Warriors split with Vermont last weekend, taking Friday's game 4-1 and falling 5-4 in the series finale. Friday night's contest was controlled by Merrimack, and it was carried by Grant-Mentis's performance. She followed an assist late in the first period with a short-handed goal of her own minutes later. In the second period, she led a two-on-one short-handed attack, feeding senior Dominique Kremer for the team's third goal and second short-handed finish. Merrimack's fourth and final goal in Friday's victory was the junior's second short-handed goal of the game, turning over Vermont in the neutral zone and dancing around the Catamount netminder for the finish.

The Brampton, Ontario, native sits second on the team in points with 21, recording seven goals and 14 assists. She becomes the most recent player to record two short-handed goals since January 5th, 2018, and just the third player from Hockey East to accomplish the feat.
