After already winning Hockey East Player of the week, senior forward Katelyn Rae of the women's ice hockey program has been named this week's Fuddrucker's Female Athlete of the Week.
Merrimack had never beaten a Hockey East opponent by more than five goals, but Friday night's 7-1 thrashing against Connecticut saw a number of players shine. The Courtice, Ontario, native stood out against the crowd; her six point performance included two goals and four assists, making her the fourth player in Hockey East history to record six points in a single game.
Rae's 38 season points help contribute to her record-setting 111 career points, with two games left to be played in the regular season. She's sixth in the conference in scoring, and is averaging 1.19 points per game.
The Warriors wrap up the regular season this weekend, playing #3 Northeastern Friday and Saturday. With Friday's matchup on the road, Saturday's 2 p.m. start will hold as senior day, where the Warriors will honor the 11 seniors in its inaugural class.
