Senior Ryan BoulterĀ of the Merrimack College men's basketball program was named the Most Valuable Player of the Northeast-10 Conference Championship over the weekend, leading to his honor of FuddruckersĀ Male Athlete of the Week.

Boulter netted a game-high 17 points and five 3-pointers on Saturday, leading Merrimack to its first conference championship in 19 years. The Mansfield, Mass. native produced a 20-point effort in the semifinals as well, guiding Merrimack into the title game for the first time since the 1999-00 season. Merrimack improved its record to 10-2 in the 12 games this season that BoulterĀ has netted at least 19 points.Ā

The two-time All-Conference selection leads the NE10Ā with 98 3-pointers made this season, leaving him needing two triples in Saturday's NCAA Tournament regional quarterfinal to set a new career high for triples made. Boulter will enter the game as Merrimack's second leading scorer - averaging over 14.0 points per game - while the Mansfield, Mass. native has enjoyed a career year with career bests in blocks, assists and steals. He's also averaging close to four rebounds per contest.Ā

Boulter and the rest of the Warriors will begin the NCAA East Region as the second seed, and open play on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. when the Warriors take on Dominican College at 2:30 p.m. from Stoutenburgh Gymnasium on the campus of Saint Anselm College.Ā
