Freshman Rosemary Campanella posted an impressive week at first doubles and first singles, helping the women's tennis program to a pair of victories to earn Fuddruckers Female Athlete of the Week.
Campanella enjoyed a 3-1 week over two matches, including winning both of her tilts at first doubles and first singles against DI Holy Cross. Campanella started the week by contributing a first doubles win, 7-6 (1), as part of the Warriors’ victory over Colby-Sawyer, and followed that up with dominant efforts against the Crusaders’ top options. She won at first doubles, 6-3, before a convincing sweep at first singles (6-2, 6-3).
The Wells, Maine native improved her singles record to 18-3 this season while her doubles marks stands at 13-10 following the two wins last week. Her 31 combined victorires this season are the most on the Warriors.
Campanella and the rest of the women's tennis squad have one more match this spring, facing Endicott College one week from Thursday (April 25) for a 3:30 p.m. match in Beverly, Mass.
