The Merrimack College men's track & field program closed out its run in the Northeast-10 Conference with its best-ever runner-up finish in the NE10 Outdoor Championship. With a handful of athletes rising to the occasion, sophomore Patrick Forrest had a highlight weekend, helping him earn Fuddrucker's Athlete of the Week.Â
The sophomore placed second in the 200 meter with a time of 21.56, and took first in the 400 meter with a time of 47.04 - both times are within the national provisional qualfiying standard, and his 400 meter time is good for second-best in the country. He took home the Most Outstanding Track Performer award, after also taking a leg in the 4x400Â race.
Forrest and the Warriors will compete in the New England Outdoor Championships, which begin Friday, May 10.
