A sensational sophomore campaign, Patrick Forrest ended his season in fashion, becoming one of the first track athletes in men's program history to compete in a sprints event at nationals. His performance in Saturday's final was deserving of Fuddrucker's Athlete of the Week.
Forrest, in his first-ever NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship, had an unbelievable weekend for the Warriors. After winning his preliminary heat Thursday evening, Forrest went on to take fourth place in the 400 meter with a time of 47.34, and earned his first All-American status with his performance. The sprints specialist became the first track athlete to make it to nationals, behind former field phenom John Braga in 2018.
