Sophomore Léa-Kristine Demers (Repentigny, Quebec) of the Merrimack women's ice hockey team has been named this week's Fuddruckers Female Athlete of the Week.

The sophomore goalie helped guide the Warriors to a huge 4-3 upset victory over No. 3 Minnesota on Friday night. Demers had a career-high 54 saves on 57 shots, including 22 saves in the second period, to get her first win of the 2017-18 season.

Demers and the rest of the Warriors are back in action this weekend for a home-and-home series against New Hampshire on Friday and Saturday. Friday's puck drop is set for 7 p.m. from Durham, New Hampshire, with Saturday's coming from Lawler Rink at 3 p.m.
