After leading the men’s ice hockey team to a comeback victory against the Vermont Catamounts, Mac Welsher is this week’s men’s Fuddruckers Athlete of the Week!

Welsher scored a pair of goals for the Warriors, bringing the game within one with a tip on the power play. The freshman scored the game winner in overtime, handling a pass in the slot to fire it in for the win. The Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich. native was named Hockey East Rookie Week for his first career two-goal game.

Welsher and the Warriors are back in action this weekend when they head north for a two-game set against Maine. The teams square off Friday at 7:30 pm at Alfond Arena, then against Saturday at 7 pm in Orono.
