Posting a team-leading 10 kills on a team-best .474 hitting percentage, senior middle hitter Mary Kate McCarroll (Harrison, Ohio) of the Merrimack College of the women's volleyball program has been named this week's Fuddruckers Female Athlete of the Week.
McCarroll earned recognition on the Northeast-10 Conference Honor Roll for her efforts, which resulted in Merrimack's first home and NE10 victory of the season. The Warriors swept Saint Michael's, hitting .308 as a team which was the highest for the program in a single match since November of 2014. McCarroll added one service ace, one block solo and two block assists for 13 total points on the afternoon.Â
The Harrison Ohio native has led the Warriors all season in total kills (145) and kills per set (2.34), which are both on pace to be career highs. She has already set personal bests this season in total digs (131) and digs per set (2.11).
McCarroll and the Warriors return to action this weekend with two road matches beginning on Friday night at 7 p.m. at Southern Connecticut State University.Â
