Sophomore guard Diamond Christian of the Merrimack College women's basketball program has been named the Dunkin' Athlete of the Week following a career weekend in the Warriors' two games last week at Fairleigh Dickinson. 

Christian led Merrimack with 16.0 points per game in its first two games of the year, shooting over 60 percent from the field against FDU. Christian started the weekend with a 7-of-11 shooting performance, netting a career-high 15 points in the Warriors' season opener on Saturday. She followed that up by immediately besting that career best with 17 points in Sunday's contest, mirroring her 7-of-11 shooting performance. The Bronx, N.Y. native paced Merrimack by shooting 63.6 percent from the field (14-22) including a team-best 60-percent shooting (3-5) from beyond the arc. She also led the team with six assists, tied for the team lead with three steals and added six rebounds over the two games.
