Following a career week that featured a pair of double-digit performances, sophomore wing Jaleel Lord (Jersey City, N.J.) of the Merrimack College men's basketball team has been named Fuddruckers Athlete of the Week.
Lord averaged 20.5 points per game and 5.5 rebounds per contest to lead the men's basketball program to a 2-0 week. The second-year Warrior started both home games against Stonehill and Saint Anselm, starting the week with a 16-point, nine-rebound effort against the Skyhawks. The nine boards against Stonehill were also a career high.Â
The Jersey City native followed that up with a career-high 25 points against Saint Anselm, shooting 9-of-10 from the field and 7-of-8 from three-point range. The seven three-pointers marked a new single-game high, increasing his season total to 17 triples on 29 three-point attempts. His 58.7 three-point percentage leads the Warriors and is fifth in the Northeast-10 Conference.Â
Lord and the Warriors return to action with a pair of games this week when Merrimack faces Franklin Pierce on Tuesday night and Saint Michael's College on Saturday afternoon. Both games are away from campus.Â
