After helping her team win its first tournament title of the season, senior golfer Jessica Wagner of the Merrimack College women's golf team has been named Fuddruckers Women's Athlete of the Week!

Wagner and the rest of the Warriors returned to action at the Browngolf Intercollegiate last Friday and Saturday, and like the rest of her team, Wagner rallied in the second round to help Merrimack claim the tournament crown.

Wagner finished the tournament in second place, the first of three Merrimack golfers to finish in the top-10 of the field. The San Diego native finished 12-over-par 156, shooting 75 in the second round, shaving six strokes off her opening round score to pace the Warriors. That helped the Warriors erase a five-stroke team deficit of its own on the way to winning its first tournament since the 2016 NE10 Championship.

Merrimack will be back in action on April 9-10, when the Warriors visit the Penn Oaks Golf Club in West Chester, Pennsylvania, for the Dr. Edwin B Cottrell Invite.
