After his offense surge helped the No. 2 Merrimack College men's lacrosse team pick up a pair of victories last week, sophomore attack Charlie Bertrand has been named Fuddruckers Male Athlete of the Week.
Bertrand, who was named ot the USILAÂ Division II Team of the Week, led Merrimack with 11 goals in two games last week, helping the Warriors post a pair of wins in league play. He tied his career high with his seven-point outing against Bentley and set a new personal best for goals in a single game with his seven-tally performance. He also recorded his 100th career point during the course of last week, as well.Â
The sophomore sensation is averaging nearly five points and four goals per game per game, leading the team with 24 goals and ranking second with 29 points. He is among the league and nation's leaders in every scoring category.
Bertrand and the Warriors return to action this week with two more league games starting Tuesday (April 3) night against Saint Anselm starting at 7 p.m.
