Behind a pair of clean sheets to start 2018, junior Erin Fulton was named the first Female Fuddruckers Female Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.Â
Also winning NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week honors, Fulton posted two shutout victories in the annual Merrimack Kickoff Classic this past weekend; a 3-0 win against Molloy Thursday night, followed by a 6-0 victory Saturday. The Farmington, Connecticut, native made six saves between both contests, playing the full 180 minutes between the pipes.
Â
Last season, Fulton started in nine of the 11 games played, all in the back half of the season. Posting a 6-4 record through 2017, she allowed under a goal a game (0.89), made 62 saves, and held a save percentage of .873. Her three shutouts came through a six-game span at the end of the season, in which the Warriors needed to win out to make the NE10 Championship Tournament. Her biggest game of the season came in the NE10 Quarterfinal, where her 13 saves propelled #8 Merrimack over #1 Adelphi.
Â
A mechanical engineering major, Fulton is the only upperclassmen keeper on the roster. She and the Warriors return to the pitch Saturday, September 8, for their first conference showdown with Adelphi on Martone-Mejail Field. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m.
