After winning his first collegiate cross country race on Saturday, freshman TJ Corliss of the Merrimack College men's cross country program has been named this week's Fuddrucker's Male Athlete of the Week.
Corliss, for the second straight week, was the first Warrior to finish on the day, posting a time of 26:45 to take home his first career victory at Saturday’s Codfish Bowl. He helped the Warriors win their first race as a team in four years.
The rookie has three top-30 finishes under his belt so far, beginning his career with an eighth-place finish at the Shacklette Invitational before posting an 8K collegiate-best time of 25:55.2 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on the way to winning last week's race.
The Warriors will be back in action in two weeks when they compete in the New England Championships right back at Franklin Park on Saturday, Oct. 6.
