Following a week that saw her record five points, set a new career best in scoring and lead Merrimack to a win over seventh-ranked stonehill, senior Mary McNeil of the fourth-ranked field hockey program has been named this week's Fuddruckers Female Athlete of the Week.
She scored a goal and added an assist against the Skyhawks, and followed that up with the Warriors' only goal against Pace. Her output against Stonehill brought her point total to 40 on the season, establishing a new career high and becoming just the seventh player in school history with 40 points.Â
The Canton, Mass. native ended the week with 42 career points on 15 goals and 12 assists, all of which were new career bests. The star midfielder brought her career point total to 118, which ranks third in program history. In all likelihood, McNeil will finish her career ranking second in school history in points scored.Â
McNeil and the rest of the Warriors wrap up the regular season with two games this week, needing one win to clinch the second seed in next week's NE10Â Championship.Â
