Volleyball Blanks Saint Anselm 3-0 for Fifth Straight Conference Win
MANCHESTER, NH – The Merrimack volleyball team picked up
its fifth straight conference win defeating Saint Anselm College
3-0 Tuesday evening.
Game scores were 25-8, 25-15, and 25-18.
Eight different Warriors registered a kill, while 11 picked up a
dig, as head coach Joey Pacis, who picked up his 101st career win,
played everyone in the victory.
Megan Murray (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA) had a team-high
11 kills, while Shaunda Forcier (Gonic, NH) added
10 and hit .588 overall. Elyse Lorenz (Frankfurt,
IL) tallied 26 assists, while Brianna Trabucco
(Canton, MA) picked up 13 assists and six digs.
Molly Cindric (Westlake Village, CA) had nine
kills and no errors in two sets of action.
“It was a good conference win,” said Pacis. “We
played at a high level but still can improve on some skills which
we hope to work on with the upcoming weekend matches.”
The visitors cruised to the easy 25-8 first set victory as the
Hawks committed six attack errors, while Merrimack was 7-for-9 on
its sideout play. In the second, they hit an incredible .615,
picking up 17 kills to just one attack error. They finished off the
sweep in the third, hitting .258 overall and registering 13
kills.
Charlotte Tencza led the Hawks with 10 kills and seven digs. The
hosts (5-11, 1-7 NE-10) committed 15 attack errors and hit just
.135 overall, -.150 in the first set.
The Warriors (17-5, 6-2 NE-10) host Southern Connecticut Friday at
4 p.m. to kickoff homecoming weekend at Merrimack.
