Women's Soccer Runs Away From Dolphins, 3-1
SYRACUSE, NY - With a pair of second half goals from
Jessie DeGraan (Braintree, MA) and Jackie
Vickers (Norwell, MA), the Merrimack women's soccer
Warriors sealed the programs 25th straight season of
ten-plus wins on Saturday afternoon at Le Moyne College, 3-1.
With a goal and an assist on the afternoon, senior captain
Gabrille Gramprey (Brockton, MA) helped Merrimack
secure a stronghold on the fourth seed. Should the Warriors
hold onto that position through the final three games, the Warriors
will host a Northeast-10 Conference postseason match at Warrior
Field.
Senior captain Brittany Gustafson (East Hampton,
CT) recorded her ninth win of the season with seven saves
in a game Merrimack was out-shot 19-9 by Le Moyne.
Head Coach Gabe Mejail spoke of the win on the
bus ride home from Syracuse.
"We really took advantage of the opportunities we had," Mejail
said. "Brittany came up big for us. She has really
turned into a great goalkeeper for us."
The Warriors return to action on Tuesday, October 20 at home
versus Saint Michael's College at 4:00pm on Warrior Field.
