Sabadoz Tallies Two in Win Over Saint Michael's
NORTH ANDOVER, MA – Sophomore Robbie Sabadoz
(Ottawa, ON) tallied his 16th and 17th goals of the season
to help the Merrimack men's soccer Warriors to a 4-2 win at
Saint Michael's College on Tuesday evening.
Improving to 8-6-1 (6-4 NE-10) on the season, the Warriors jumped
into fifth place in the Northeast-10 Conference.
Senior captain Greg Motta (Saunderstown,
RI) scored the game-winning goal in the 73rd minute
and also tallied an assist on junior Adam Leone's
(East Northport, NY) first goal of the season.
Junior Kevin Joyce (Mansfield, MA) made his sixth
start in net to get his fourth win with six saves.
Said Head Coach Tony Martone of the win,
“We played pretty well overall and did a good job of
finishing for a change as of late. It looked like it was going to
go down to the wire for a while, but a couple of great goals from
our guys won it for us.”
Despite losing the corner battle, 12-2, the Warriors came away
victorious, snapping a two-game skid.
The Warriors finish the 2009 regular season with three home
contests at Warrior Field. Merrimack hosts Southern Connecticut on
Thursday, October 22 at 7:00pm, making up for a postponed game on
September 12.
