Domohowski Doubles Up for Women's Soccer Win
NORTH ANDOVER, MA – Junior midfielder Kerri
Domohowski (Saugus, MA) scored a pair of first half goals
to help the Merrimack women's soccer Warriors to a 2-1 win
over Saint Michael's College on Tuesday afternoon.
In the process, the Warriors—as the current No. 4
seed—clinched a Northeast-10 Conference playoff berth.
Merrimack has now made the conference playoffs in all 25 seasons
Merrimack has been a part of the Northeast-10 Conference. In doing
so, they also become the only remaining team in the Northeast-10 to
have exclusive rights to that claim.
In the win, senior captain Gabrielle Gramprey (Brockton,
MA) tallied her second straight multi-point game with both
assists to Domohowski. With the assists, Gramprey also becomes a
member of the 30-goal, 30-assist club at Merrimack.
Senior captain Brittany Gustafson (East Hampton,
CT) made eight saves in net for her tenth win of the
season.
Head Coach Gabe Mejail spoke of how well his team
bounced back from a 1-0 deficit in the opening minutes of play.
“We showed a lot of grit at the end and really clamped down
in the second half when we needed to,” Mejail said of a game
they conceded zero corner kicks and earned 10 of their own.
“You have to give Saint Michael's credit though because
they play tough, and by no means was it an easy win.”
The Warriors conclude their regular season home schedule on
Saturday, October 24 versus Pace University at 4:00pm on Warrior
Field.
