NORTH ANDOVER, MA – Closing out the most successful season in Merrimack field hockey program history (12-7), the Warriors tied a season-high seven goal output in a 7-2 win at Saint Anselm on Saturday afternoon in Manchester.

With the win, the Warriors clinch the No. 4 seed and will host the Panthers of Adelphi University on Wednesday, October 28 in the Northeast-10 Conference quarterfinals. During the season, the Warriors took both contests with Adelphi, 4-3 and 2-0.

On Saturday, senior captain Jaclyn Germano (Westwood, MA) tallied the team's third hat trick on the year with a pair of goals in the span of five minutes, including the game winner at the 6:40 mark.

Freshman Jen Otis (Penacook, NH) scored a pair of goals and helped on a penalty corner assist to Stephanie Glazier (Sandown, NH).

Freshman Kerri Bergquist (Mashpee, MA) turned aside six shots in net, all of which came in the second half.

Head Coach Anne Rounce spoke of the team's record-setting 12th win of the year and winning four of the last five contests of the year.

“It was a great way to cap off the season,” Rounce said. “We're really looking forward to the postseason. It's exciting to be hosting a game on our home turf.”
