Sabadoz, Merrimack Shut Out AIC, 2-0
NORTH ANDOVER, MA – With Robbie Sabadoz's
(Ottawa, ON) ninth and tenth goals in just his eighth
game, the Merrimack men's soccer team (5-4-1, 3-2 NE-10) took
the lead in the 19th minute and never looked back against American
International College Saturday evening at Warrior Field.
Junior goalkeeper Kevin Joyce (Mansfield, MA)
made his second straight start for the Warriors tallying six saves
in his first win and shut-out of the year (1-1-1).
Sophomore midfielder Evan Burokas (Auburn, MA)
assisted Sabadoz's second goal, while the first went
unassisted.
Head Coach Tony Martone was very pleased with the
outcome and how his team played from start to finish.
“We played a solid game for 90 minutes,” Martone said.
“We played the ball through our midfield on the ground much
of the second half which allowed us to get a number of good
opportunities.”
Merrimack returns to Warrior field on Tuesday, October 6 at 7:00pm
to host Saint Anselm College (2-6-2, 2-3-1 NE-10).
