Cindric Nets 18 Kills in 3-0 Win over Le Moyne
NORTH ANDOVER, MA – Molly Cindric (Westlake
Village, CA) totaled a season-high 18 kills, as the
Merrimack volleyball team won its second match in as many days,
blanking Le Moyne College 3-0 Saturday at the Volpe Complex.
Game scores were 25-13, 25-19, 25-21.
Cindric, who previously had a season-high of 17 kills, picked up
her 18th and final kill on match point. She finished with just five
errors, all in the third set, and tallied 15 digs for her seventh
double-double of the year and third straight.
"It was an overall great team victory," said head coach Joey
Pacis. "Our servers and receivers really allowed our offense to
excel. We hope to keep it up."
The Warriors got off to a quick start, taking a 16-5 lead, using
an 11-0 run. They wrapped up the set behind four kills from Cindric
and three each from Jenna Reilly (Northport, NY)
and Shaunda Forcier (Gonic, NH). Merrimack made
just one attack error in the first set, hitting .366 overall.
They overcame a 16-14 deficit in the second, finishing the set
with five straight points, with Reilly netting the
set-clincher.
In the third, the hosts built an early 14-3 lead, but the Dolphins
rallied, cutting the lead 20-18, before Merrimack closed it with
the 25-21 victory.
Setter Elyse Lorenz (Frankfurt, IL) anchored the
offense with 40 assists in the win, as the Warriors committed just
14 attack errors and hit .360 overall. Forcier, Natalee
Yeazle (Blaine, MN) and Megan Murray (Rancho Santa
Margarita, CA) added seven kills each while Alyssa
Pickert (Tinley Park, IL) picked up 12 digs and
Heidi Wroblicky (Irvine, CA) totaled ten.
Morgan McDermott had 10 kills in the loss for the Dolphins, who
fell to 10-3 overall and 2-1 in conference.
Merrimack (14-4, 3-2 NE-10) concludes a three-game home stand
against Saint Michael's on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
