NORTH ANDOVER, MA – Behind 11 saves by senior Brittany Gustafson (East Hampton, CT), the Merrimack women's soccer Warriors (9-3-1, 5-1 NE-10) blanked the Hawks of Saint Anselm Tuesday evening, 2-0.

Junior Ashley Alnwick (Groton, MA) scored her sixth goal of the year, all of which have come on corner kicks. Junior Jessie DeGraan (Braintree, MA) assisted Alnwick's goal to put the Warriors up less than three minutes into play.

Junior Meghan McClorey (Melrose, MA) added an insurance goal for Merrimack in the 83rd minute on an assist from freshman Jenn Pino (North Andover, MA).

Improving to a 3-2 record on the road, Head Coach Gabe Mejail spoke of the team's performance.

“Even though it didn't show up in the box score, Jackie [Vickers] was one of the chief reasons we won tonight,” Mejail said. “We came back strong and with such intensity in the second half, which led to a number of good opportunities for us.”

The Warriors return to Warrior Field against the Chargers of New Haven on Saturday, October 10 at 1:00pm.
