Volleyball Gets School Record 21st Win over Assumption
WORCESTER, MA - The Merrimack volleyball team picked up a
school-record 21st win, defeating Assumption College 3-0
in the regular season finale Thursday night.
Game scores were 25-21, 25-13, 25-15.
Four Warriors had at least seven kills, led by All-American
Molly Cindric (Westlake Village, CA) who had nine
kills, eight digs and a service ace in her final match as a junior.
Shaunda Forcier (Gonic, NH) continued her strong
finish to the season with nine kills, five digs and a block, while
middle hitters Jenna Reilly (Northport, NY) and
Megan Murray (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA) had
eight and seven kills respectively.
Natalee Yeazle (Blaine, MN) posted 10 digs and
two kills, while Alyssa Pickert (Tinley Park, IL)
finished a probable second-straight all-conference season at libero
with 23 digs. Elyse Lorenz (Frankfurt, IL) (19
assists) and Brianna Trabucco (Canton, MA) (11
assists) combined for 30 assists from the setter position.
Heidi Wroblicky (Irvine, CA) added nine digs in
the win.
The Warriors hit .183 overall and received an ace each from five
different players, while recording five team blocks, led by two
each from Lorenz and Murray.
Assumption committed 22 attack errors to just 14 kills, hitting
-.071 overall. They had just eight kills in the final two sets
compared to 17 errors.
Under Pacis, Merrimack (21-11, 8-7 NE-10) has set school records
for wins for three straight season. They won 19 in 2007, 20 in 2008
and 21 in 2009.
