NORTH ANDOVER, MA – The Merrimack field hockey Warriors (3-3, 1-0 NE-10) won their third straight game at Warrior Field Thursday evening over Saint Anselm (0-4, 0-1 NE-10), 5-2.

The win marked the team's first three-game winning streak since 2006 when Merrimack knocked off Saint Anselm on September 26, 4-0.

Despite having their first two goals quickly answered by the Hawks, the Warriors ran away in the waning moments of the second half, with a pair of Kelly Pasquantonio (Planville, MA) goals in the 67th and 68th minute.

Senior Jaclyn Germano (Westwood, MA) tallied her third and fourth goals of the season, including the game-winner eight minutes into the second half.

Freshman Jen Otis (Penacook, NH) continued her offensive dominance with a goal and two assists to push her season total to 11 points (4G, 3A).

Freshman Kerri Bergquist (Mashpee, MA) also recorded her third straight win with three saves in net.

The Warrior pressure that limited Saint Anselm to only one second half shot was something Head Coach Anne Rounce was particularly proud of.

“We really came together offensive and withstood their attack,” Rounce said. “I think Jaclyn's [Germano] energy helped our offense immensely with her offensive aggressiveness.”

Concluding their three-game home stand without a blemish, Merrimack returns to action on Saturday, September 12 at Southern Connecticut at 1:00pm.
