Volleyball Sweeps Concordia, Franklin Pierce Saturday
RINDGE, NH - The Merrimack volleyball team picked up a pair of
3-0 victories Saturday afternoon, defeating Concordia and Franklin
Pierce in non-conference battles.
Game scores against Concordia were 25-9, 25-7 and 25-14.
"We've been working on improving communication on and off the
court," said head coach Joey Pacis. "And the communication today
was the best it has been all season. Everyone was on the same page,
and when they are, we can do things more effectively offensively.
We hope to keep that going as move along."
The middle hitters led the way as Natalee Yeazle
(Blaine, MN) registered five service aces, five kills,
five digs, and two assists in the first win. Megan Murray
(Rancho Santa Margarita, CA) added 11 kills and a .450
attack percentage, as the Warriors hit .417 as a team, making just
eight attack errors, while tallying 38 kills and 12 aces.
They led for virtually the entire match, seeing just one lead
change in the first game and forced 18 Concordia attack errors.
In a 25-17, 25-9, 25-19 win over Franklin Pierce, Murray and
Molly Cindric (Westlake Village, CA) each had 10
kills, while Elyse Lorenz (Frankfurt, IL) notched
28 assists, eight digs and three kills. Alyssa Pickert
(Tinley Park, IL) (15 digs) and Yeazle (13 digs) were both
in double figures, as the Warriors hit .254 as a team, including
.536 in the second game.
Merrimack (6-2) returns home to face Saint Anselm Tuesday night
at 7 p.m. at the Volpe Gym.
