Field Hockey Flies To Fifth Straight Win With Shutout of Assumption

NORTH ANDOVER, MA – With the Merrimack field hockey Warriors' fifth straight win on Wednesday evening versus Assumption College, 3-0, they matched the program's longest win streak since September of 2006.

Senior captain Jaclyn Germano (Westwood, MA) led the Warriors offense with a pair of goals, including her team-high sixth of the season from freshman April Daugherty (Lincoln, RI).

The freshman Daugherty also added her third goal which became the eventual game-winner when Merrimack earned their second shutout of the year. She also tallied an assist to Germano in the final minute of play.

Freshman Kerri Bergquist (Mashpee, MA) tallied her fifth straight win with five saves while junior Jenna Barbato (Watertown, MA) posted a defensive save to accompany her fifth assist of the season.

Improving to 5-3 on the year, the Warriors hit the road for a two-game road trip at Adelphi on Saturday (1:00pm) and non-conference CW Post on Sunday (12:00pm).
