Field Hockey Streak Ends at #9 CW Post
BROOKVILLE, NY – Despite a pair of second half goals from
freshman Jen Otis (Penacook, NH), the Merrimack
field hockey Warriors could not extend their win streak to seven
after falling to the Pioneers of #9 CW Post, 6-2 on Sunday
afternoon.
Freshman goalkeeper Kerri Bergquist (Mashpee, MA)
held her own against a strong Pioneer offense with eight saves in
her first loss in over two weeks.
The Warriors return to Warrior Field on Tuesday, September 22 to
face #3 UMass-Lowell at 4:00pm in their second conference game of
the year. Earlier in the year, Merrimack fell to the River Hawks
5-1 in Lowell when junior Jenna Barbato (Watertown,
MA) scored the Warriors lone goal.
