Volleyball Rebounds with 3-0 Win over Franklin Pierce
NORTH ANDOVER, MA – After losing the conference opener to
Stonehill on Wednesday, the Merrimack volleyball team rebounded
with a 3-0 win over Franklin Pierce Friday night in a
non-conference match.
Game scores were 25-13, 25-22, 25-17.
The Warriors came out strong, taking an early 10-1 lead behind the
serve of Heidi Wroblicky (Irvine, CA) and cruised
to the 25-13 first-set victory with Molly Cindric (Westlake
Village, CA) getting seven early kills.
Franklin Pierce (3-9) led for most of the second set, but the
Warriors evened the score at 18 after a kill from Natalee
Yeazle (Blaine, MN) and put the set away 25-22, with
Megan Murray (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA) firing
her 10th kill of the match for the clincher.
Merrimack led for the entire third set, with Yeazle getting two
aces en route to the 25-17 victory.
Cindric finished with 12 kills and five digs, while Alyssa
Pickert (Tinley Park, IL) added a match-high 13 digs and a
service ace, giving her at least an ace in seven straight matches.
Elyse Lorenz (Frankfort, IL) picked up 28 assists
in just two sets, with Brianna Trabucco (Canton,
MA) getting eight assists and a dig in the final set.
Nicole Duarte (Windham, NH) added two kills in the
third set. Shaunda Forcier (Gonic, NH) tallied
seven kills, while Yeazle finished with six digs, five kills and
four aces.
Katie Ristow led the Ravens with 10 kills, while Pamela Walker
added 22 assists.
The hosts forced 22 Raven attack errors, as the visitors had a
hitting percentage of just .043.
Merrimack (11-3, 0-1 NE-10) rounds out a three-game home stand
against Southern New Hampshire Saturday at 1 p.m.
