NORTH ANDOVER, MA - Thanks to a pair of goals from sophomore Khara Roman (Orange, CT),the Merrimack women's soccer Warriors (8-2-1, 5-2 NE-10) won their third straight contest Wednesday evening, 2-1 over the Penmen of Southern New Hampshire (3-6-3, 1-4-3 NE-10) in double overtime.

Roman scored her second goal of the season off the head of junior Kerri Domohowski (Saugus, MA) before scoring her third of the year in the 108th minute of play from Jessica Peacock (Hopedale, MA) and Jessie DeGraan (Braintree, MA) off the Warriors tenth and final corner kick.

Sophomore goalkeeper Kiley Horne (Scituate, MA) recorded her first win of the year in relief of senior Brittany Gustafson (East Hampton, CT), making three saves on the night.

Head Coach Gabe Mejail thought Southern New Hampshire to be a worthy opponent, but was impressed with how his team came out of the gates in overtime play.

"They played us tough the entire game, we were just on fire in the second overtime," Mejail said.  "I don't know where we got all the energy, but our team showed some real determination, and made it count when we needed it most."

The Warriors hit the road next at American International on Saturday, October 3 in Springfield, Massachusetts for an 11:00 AM start.
