Volleyball Cruises to 3-0 Victory over Saint Rose
ALBANY, NY – The Merrimack volleyball team opened a
two-day, two-conference match road trip with a big 3-0 win at Saint
Rose on Friday.
Game scores were 25-12, 25-20, 25-14.
After an error-filled match against Lowell on Tuesday, the
Warriors came out strong, hitting .382 and committing just four
attack errors, taking the first set quickly 25-12.
They overcame nine attack errors in the second and closed it out
with an ace from Alyssa Pickert
(Tinley Park, IL) and a set-ending kill from Jenna Reilly
(Northport, NY).
In the third, they won 64% of sideout points, scoring five
straight points with Heidi Wroblicky
(Irvine, CA) serving, taking the third set 25-14.
Nicole Duarte (Windham, NH)
led the way with 13 kills, while Molly Cindric
(Westlake Village, CA) picked up 11 digs, eight kills, two
aces and did not commit an attack error. Pickert totaled 17 digs
while Reilly and Megan Murray
(Rancho Santa Margarita, CA) had seven kills each.
The Warriors totaled nine aces and hit .210 overall, while the
Golden Knights hit just .011 and made 33 total errors.
Merrimack (3-8, 2-4 NE-10) has a quick turnaround as it takes on
Le Moyne Saturday at 1 p.m. in Syracuse.
