NORTH ANDOVER, MA - Ending the season on a five-game win streak,
the Merrimack men's basketball team took down Southern New
Hampshire at home Wednesday evening on Senior Night, 75-58.
With the win, Merrimack remains in the No. 3 position of the
Northeast-10 Conference, earning the right to host a quarterfinal
matchup on Monday, March 1 at Volpe Gym.
Seniors Darren Duncan
(Briarwood, NY), Craig Woehnker
(Colts Neck, NJ), Jeff Hansbury
(Plaistow, NH) and Jared Brownlee
(Portland, ME) were all recognized before Wednesday's game
for their contribution to Merrimack over the last four seasons.
"These guys have been an incredible asset to this team and the
Merrimack basketball program," said head coach Bert Hammel.
"It has been a pleasure to watch them grow of the past four year
and I'm thankful to have been a part of it with them."
In an even outing for Merrimack, six players were in double
figures with Duncan leading the way at 12. Freshman

Young (Brooklyn, NY) came off the bench for a
career-high 10 points to go with four boards and two blocks.
In a game the Warriors allowed the fifth fewest points this
season, Merrimack tallied 14 second chance points (all in the first
half) to Southern New Hampshire's six despite being outrebounded
45-38.
After leading 13-12 8:33 into the game, Merrimack went on a 23-4
run capped off by one of sophomore Roland Davis' (Deer
Park, NY) two three-pointers. Davis finished with 11
points and four rebounds.
Heading to the locker room with a 39-21 cushion, all eight
Merrimack players who had participated scored at least three
points.
In the second half, Southern New Hampshire pulled to within 12
at the 12:19 mark, but the Warriors applied pressure to gain as
much as a 25 point advantage in the last three minutes of play.

field and 22% from beyond the arc (5-of-23). The Warriors
benefitted from 50% second half-shooting to come away with a fifth
