#4/6 Men's Lacrosse Edged by St. Leo's 12-11

ST. LEO, FL – The Merrimack men's lacrosse team suffered its first loss of the season, falling to St. Leo's 12-11 Saturday night, concluding its three-game Florida trip.

Despite two goals from freshman Greg Melaugh (Billerica, MA), Merrimack trailed at halftime, 7-4 to St. Leo's, who received 15 first-half saves from goaltender David Erdman.  

But the Warriors stormed back in the fourth, scoring four unanswered goals to take an 11-10 lead as Brad McAdam (Neshanic Station, NJ) gave the visitors their first lead of the game with 3:47 remaining with his second of the night. However, Luke Baruch tied it with 3:01  left, and Kyle Marceau netted the game-winner with seven seconds remaining in regulation, as St. Leo's improved to 7-1 on the season.

Corey Lunney (Little Silver, NJ) netted three goals in the loss, giving him 11 on the season. He also assisted on McAdam's goal late in the fourth.

Erdman finished with 19 saves to eight for senior netminder Cory Spinale (Wakefield, MA).

Merrimack (2-1) opens its conference and home schedule on March 24 against Saint Michael's at 4 p.m. at Warrior Field.
