Men's Tennis Throttles AIC, 9-0, Remains Undefeated in Conference Play
SPRINGFIELD, MA- Improving to 4-0 in Conference play and 5-3
overall, the Merrimack College men's tennis team won 9-0 at
the AIC Tennis Courts Sunday afternoon in Springfield.
Freshman Petar Golijanin
(Novi Sad, Serbia) continued his first-year dominance
without allowing a point in singles play and improving to 7-1 on
the year in dual matches.
Junior Liam Hoare (West
Newbury, MA) and sophomore Rishi Rajpal (New
Delhi, India) teamed up for a No. 1 doubles win, improving
to 2-2 on the year and 2-0 at No. 1 doubles.
Hoare also captured a No. 4 singles win, while sophomore
Max
Eppley (Malaga, Spain) took down the Yellow
Jackets' No. 1 single 6-1, 6-2. Eppley also matched up
with junior Tim McHugh (Edgartown,
MA) to take home an 8-3 win at No. 2 doubles. McHugh
gave up just one point in his straight set win at No. 5 singles.
The Warriors return to action on Saturday, March 27 at Adelphi
University with a 10:00am start in Garden City, New York. The
Panthers are currently tied with the Warriors for first in the
Northeast-10 at 4-0 in Conference with dominant wins over Franklin
Pierce (9-0), Saint Anselm (9-0), Pace (8-1) and Assumption (7-2).
