NORTH ANDOVER, MA- Improving to .500 (4-4) in Conference play, the Merrimack College women's tennis team overtook the University of New Haven, 7-2, Saturday afternoon at North Andover High School.

The Warriors—who moved into eighth place in the Northeast-10—also improved to 4-9 on the season with five Conference matches remaining.

“The key to today's victory was our doubles play,” said head coach Chris Stevens.  “It set the tone for a good win over a quality New Haven team.”

Seniors Caitlin Dunn (Middleton, MA) and Cristina Lucin (Wesley Chapel, FL) each recorded singles wins at No. 2 and No. 1, respectively, before teaming for an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles.  As a duo, the seniors improved to 4-2 in the Northeast-10 at No. 1 doubles.

The Warriors return to the court on Sunday when they travel to Rindge, New Hampshire to take on Franklin Pierce University following the men's team at 1:00pm.
