Men's Tennis Improves to 9-0 in NE-10 with Win at Franklin Pierce
RINDGE, NH – The Merrimack College men's and
women's tennis teams did not drop a set Sunday at Franklin
Pierce University on the way to a 9-0 win for each club.
The women improved to 5-9 (5-4 NE-10) while the men continue
their quest to run the table in the Northeast-10 Conference,
sitting at 9-0 with two matches to play.
"Once again today the tone was set by our doubles play,”
said head coach Chris Stevens. “We
also saw a lot of depth in both of our teams today. Freshmen
Erin McMahon and Katie Veasey of
the women's team really showed strong play for us."
With four matches to play in their Conference schedule, the
women's team takes on second-ranked Stonehill College on
Tuesday at the University of New Hampshire at 3:30pm. The
women will also play at 3:30 on Friday at UNH when they host the
top-ranked Southern New Hampshire Penmen (10-0 NE-10).
The men play Assumption College (2-8, 2-7 NE-10) on Thursday,
April 15th at UNH before a regular season finale against
the only other undefeated team in Northeast-10 Conference play,
Bentley University, on April 17th at 10:00am in Waltham,
Massachusetts.
