#10 Men's Lacrosse Downs AIC 13-4 on Senior Day
NORTH ANDOVER, MA – The tenth-ranked Merrimack men's
lacrosse team notched its seventh conference win with a 13-4
victory over AIC on Senior Day at Warrior Field Saturday.
Corey
Lunney (Little Silver, NJ) and Bryan MacPhie
(Scarborough, ME) combined for seven first-half goals as
Merrimack led 8-1 at halftime, after scoring three early goals in a
1:45 span. The Warriors forced eight first-half turnovers and
outshot the hosts 18-10 through the first 30 minutes.
Lunney finished with a game-high five goals and six points,
giving the freshman 38 goals on the season. MacPhie tallied six
points as well, while Greg Melaugh
(Billerica, MA) and Michael Balbuena
(Falmouth, MA) had three points each. Twenty-three
different players had ground balls, led by Nick Maggio
(Winchester, MA) who had five.
Cory
Spinale (Wakefield, MA) stopped three shots in the
first half before giving way to Matt Austin
(Upperbrookville, NY) in the second who had six saves in
the third.
Brett Serriello led the way for the Yellow Jackets, who fell to
3-10 overall, with two goals.

at 7 p.m. looking to clinch second-place in the Northeast-10.
